The hotel we stayed at in Maui was the Pioneer Inn right next door to the Banyan Tree Beautiful especially at night with the lights on. The craft festival was fun. Lots of beautiful stuff to buy. Never thought to look in Wal Mart for the material. It is where I bought most of my souveniers. Bought a cheap styrofoam cooler to keep ice and our drinks in. Bought cheese and snack sausages wine and took to a park and sat. Didn't drink the wine til we got back to our hotel. Restaurant had great food. try the poi pies at McDonalds we liked them, thats where we ate most of the time 1.00 menu had more money for sightseeing If you get a chance do the Hana Highway

This is like my tenth time to Maui so as far as all the tourist hot spots been there done that. But I hadn't found any quilt shops so I thought I would plan ahead this time. There use to be a shop in one of the Lahiana Malls upstairs but it isn't there anymore when I checked last year. I have made arrangements for a class at the Maui Quilt Shop in Kihei and emailed the one in Lahiana but just thought I would ask in case there was a little one that I hadn't found online.

we were there in June and it was still there. Also one right down the street on the same side as the banyan tree I don't remember if it was walking distance or if we drove just because we were headed out that way to do more sightseeing
