I will be traveling to San Angelo next week and wondered if anyone could recommend any fabric stores in the area.

Wool N Cotton is a great shop. Judith used to not open until 11:00 AM. If you are earler than that you might give her a call first.

I was happy to read someone ask about San Angelo,Tx. I'm from there, but right now I'm in CA. and should be going Home soon. While I was there last year my sister took me to Wool N Cotton, it was small but very nice, lots of fabric to pick from and everyone there was very nice.

I haven't been to San Angelo in years. But it is my birthplace. So I am definitely a native Texan!

I forgot to mention, that if you do go to Wool N Cotton, try to go to the Arts Museum, (shaped like a saddle) it's walking distance from the fabric shop. Not sure what Thursday of the month, there is a Art Walk in the evening, there in the area, walk through the different shops, prizes. some have refreshments and more things to do.

I'm not sure abour San Angelo, but I'm orginally from Winters, which is between San Angelo and Abilene. It's a small town, but Shop is on the main street through town - name of shop is:
Bluebonnet Mercantile, 106 S Main St, Winters, TX 79567, 325-754-4057
We go to Winters every summer in July for my family reuntion and I also try to make it to the shop.
Good luck and enjoy yours trip.

Small world, we lived in San Angelo for over 7 years, before we movced to the DFW area. We were SO GLAD to get out of there! At the time they only had Hancocks & Walmart.

Glad for everyone there they now have more to offer!

I have no idea what Fabric Shops they have, but I do know there are some in Angelo. One of my sister-in-laws lives just a few miles from there in a small town, and she shops for fab. for sewing and quilting.

I know where Winters is also. I grew up in McCamey, Tx. but have lived in West Texas for all but 9 years of my life. We traveled from McCamey to near Brownwood, (Cross Cut and Cross Plains, and Rising Star area) to visit with family when I was growing up.

I love going to San Angelo, but unfortunately haven't been there in quite a while. It's great to know they have some nice fabric stores now. I'll know what to look for the next time I get to travel there.
