Hi, I was just wondering if there is anyone from northern Illinois who would know about any get togethers or would be interrested in getting together for an afternoon of quilting? I am a stay-at-home mom who would love to meet others who quilt near me! You all are fabulous on here and I value your input and comments but I feel like connecting a bit more :) I am trying to honor my "me time" in a fun way.

Wish I was-I'm in Southern California (Ramona-a bit north and east of San Diego), but it would be good if there was a thread for people who want to physically connect with others in their areas-I have wanted to meet people in my area too.

I wondered if I should have put this one in the off-line events section or the introduction? I think hands-on sharing of knowledge is a wonderful way to start a friendship :)

I guess I should have specified...I live near the LaSalle/Peru area (about 90 miles south west of Chicago). There are not a lot of quilting stores around me and I know of few who quilt and live near me.

If you live in Mendota, I'm only about half an hour east of you right on Rt. 34. I'd love to meet someone to quilt with, but I work full-time and would not be able to get together during the day. Hope you're able to find some quilting buddies who are available during the day for you.
