Anyone know of upcoming quilt retreats within days' driving distance of either central MO or Northern KY? Would like to have one where we can take our own projects to finish (have a lot of those!) Not having much luck with internet search...

I am doing one Sept 24-26 in Bentonsport Iowa. It should be a reasonable distance if you are interested. It is bring your own projects no fees just your lodging and meals. It is at a Bed and Breakfast along the river.

It would be two eight hour drives for my mom, but it sounds wonderful!! What would be the closest airport if we chose to fly instead?

If you are refering to my retreat I am sure there is an airport in Mt. Pleasant. I'm not sure what type of planes can land there but there is also Burlington. both Mt.Pleasant and Burlington are about 45 mins or so from the B & B. would love to have you join us!

Actually, it would have been only six for her, eight for me and it looks perfect! Unfortunately, I just figured out they will be on a cruise that weekend!! Bummer. We would have been there. Any plans on another one in October or November?

Not right now but if this one goes well I will consider another. There are some who were interested but they are going to Des Moines for the big Quilt Show. So maybe I'll do another soon.
First part of November would be nice. I love fall and it should be pretty down there in the fall.

Check out www.whistlingmeadowsquilts.com. My quilt guild just had Bev Burris (the owner) do a day class for us. Her and her husband have a place in Greenville, IL where they do retreats for 2-10 people. The website looks encouraging and she was a very good teacher. Greenville is just south of St. Louis and less than 3 hours from Paducah. She can teach or you can just sew to your hearts content.
Good luck on your search and I hope you and your mom have a great time.

Keep me posted! Early November works for us. If we know before we find another one, you could count on two!
