Default Newfane Country Store in Vermont

Arrived in Southern Vermont last week and was so looking forward to visiting the Newfane Country Store to admire the lovely quilts as I always do (and bought one years ago)...but it's gone! Anyone on the board know when it closed? Did the beautiful quilts on display and for sale move to another location? I will have to go console myself buying fabric at Country Treasures in Chester & Frank's in Claremont.

Sorry, I don't know anything about the Newfane Country Store but if you're going to Claremont stop at Four Pines Quilt Store, good prices and very friendly.

Thanks for the tip! We've been going to & from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and pass by Claremont on the way. Maybe we'll stop one of these times...

I live in Chester so Country Treasures is a treasure for me. I heard the Newfane shop closed a while back. Sad. There are two other shops in the area, too. Waterwheel on rte 100 in Londonderry is a modern quilt shop, beautiful bright fabric displays and Berninas. Also go south on Rte 103 to exit 5, turn right, go to T in road, right again. Quilt- Away is on the right set back in the trees. Good selection, great sale flats in baby crib.

beatys9, you make want to go to Norton House in 30 West Main St., Wilmington, VT. It is in Southern VT, but since you are staying in the Hanover, NH area, it is a little further south. However, it's a great place and worth the trip if you can do it.

Luv Quilts and Cats - I was actually staying at our family home in Grafton, VT so not far at all but I didn't see your message until long after I was home. My step-father was in Hanover at Dartmouth Hospital so we were up there to attend to him. I will check out Norton House on my next Vermont trip!
