I re-did the sailboat block so I'd remember how and I posted it here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-128366-1.htm#3414514

Karen, baby Anna Renee is darling.

Thanks Karen for organizing the week end. I had such a great time and loved getting to know some of you new quilters to the group and getting to know the rest of you BETTER. Isn't it amazing that 18 strangers can come together for a "slumber party" and leave 3 days later feeling like we've just spent a great time with FAMILY. You are all special, fun, caring and I loved you all. I don't think I've laughed so much, ever! After being up all night hugging all the Chinook Winds slots, I was pretty wasted but fortunately, Sharon drove home while I snored! Got home, sat down on the couch to tell DH about the whole week end and fell asleep in mid sentence. At 4 this AM when I woke up he was sleeping in his chair and wasn't too excited about hearing the tales of the week end so he went to bed. I'll regale him with a blow by blow of the week end events when he gets up.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful food, company, sharing and caring.

Feathers, it was great to visit with you again, and really enjoyed Sharon. Tell her to GET on this board! I think she has the makings of a great quiltmaker. :-)

Well, I am alive today! Yesterday that was questionable  . Not as young as I use to be so those late nighters are much harder to re-coop from. I had an absolutely wonderful time this weekend with all of you. I too have never laughed so hard or so much in a long time. The food was great - thank you Feathers and Sharon for bringing the feast on Thursday. Everyone was excellant cooks with casseroles, lasagna, cookies, salads, breads and goodies. Oh, and I can't forget the wonderful biscuits and gravy that Cjbridges made for all of us on Saturday morning (yummmmm). I hate to get on the scales this morning to see what kind of damages I did. Thank you Karen for organizing the whole thing. It was awesome! Feathers thank you for the games and all the activities that you came up with. We all know so much more about each other now. I have never walked into a group not knowing anyone and made so many new friends so quickly and felt at home at the same time. Wine Woman thank you so very much for educating me about wine. My daughter absolutely loved the Syrah as we had some with our dinner last night. Wine Woman thank you to for sharing your double pointed pins with me and showing me how well they work. I will be looking for them today. Cjbridges what can I say about you but God threw away the mold after he made you. You are one crazy lady that is so fun to be around even when we are working on the projects, but break times were a hoot. I will definitely be looking for "smiley quilts"
from you. Ugly Cook I am so glad that you are so close by and that I will get a chance to see you often (I hope) because then I wouldn't feel like this last weekend was just a dream. You will be my prove that I really did meet some totally awesome people this weekend, and you are just one of about 15 of them.

Ladies I can honestly say that for my first retreat ever - y'all made it very memoriable and wonderful. And if you are all serious about coming to my house in October I would love to have all of you. Ugly Cook said that she would help me organize it too. So just let us know.

    Many many thanks and hugs,
    Sherryl

I feel bad about not being able to help with the final clean up but I know you all did a wonderful job! My GD looked beautiful in her dress!

Who's taking on organizing the next one? :)
OH My what a beautiful baby. It would have been hard for me to pull myself away from her for even a minute letalone a weekend.

Thank you Karen so very much for all of your hard work organizing this retreat. It was great.

    Thanks,

Here's a good video of how to do the Y seams, and she does it even better without removing the fabric from the machine

I'd like to offer my house for "day camp". (Just a one day get-together). I have room at my dining table for 4 sewing machines and room for 4 more hand sewers on the sofa. I don't have a date in mind yet. I'll be thinking about it.
