Laurie, congrats on the new grandson! So much fun!

Anyone want to join Faith and I on next Thursday? We're going to the State Fair to see the quilts, etc! It's also Red Hat Society day with a discount if you wear the attire! Going without kids this time just so I can see what I want to see! :)
Oh! I would love to join you at the State Fair. I really am into the Fair . Hope you all have a great time.

I'm out of the hospital after my hew hip surgery on the 18th. I'm doing really good and have little or no pain but lots of swelling. I'll probably be on a walker by the time retreat rolls around. Right now I'm not suppose to leave my chair. Have had some sad things happen since the end of July. Our yoiungest daughter lost her battle with brain cancer as did my best friend who died of esophagus cancer. Parents aren't suppose to outlive their children! It doesn't "fit" in the scope of things but we can't
change anything. They are both with our Lord and we'll see them again.

Have a State Fair Hay Day! Sandy

Sandy, I'm so sorry to hear about your best friend on top of losing your daughter! Take care of yourself so that we can have your smiling face at the retreat!

I believe the fair opens at 10. If you wear the appropriate Red Hat Society attire, you get a discount. I would go online for all the details! We hadn't talked about where to meet, there are something like 4 entrances and I always seem to go in a different one each time! I plan to see some equestrian stuff, quilts and I just have to check out all the vendors! I would say just show up and give me a call, you've got my number! :)

Oh, Sandy, so terribly sorry to hear of your losses. My heart is aching for you, as well as prayers being sent your way. Wishing you a speedy recovery, and hope this will be the last of your misery for a long, long time.

So sorry about your news...you are right about kids and parents.

Is it the VIP fabric with the road and houses and a truck stop, police station, airport, and a finish line?
Yes, I still have that one.

Hi Elisabeth!!! <waving here> Sorry I have been MIA but been working nights and hubbys reunion has kept me busy.
Oh yes, Faith, I remember now - just didn't make the connection  BTW, I am now the proud grandma of a GRANDSON! Born 8/22. Have been extremely busy with grandbabies lately
Congrats on your new baby grandson, Laurie.

Thanx, Sandy. I held the baby up to GD (big sister) who is only 10 months old, and told her to" give brother kisses." She licked his head!! :) DD is definitely gonna have her hands full, but then I guess there was a reason I retired early

Cindy: was fun to see you at the estate sale today! I was thinking that maybe you should try a Judy Neimeyer pattern with all those beautiful purple batiks. I am working on one of her patterns, and have several more waiting in the wings. Check out her website
