My folks have a water drainage system behind their home and it sounds like a loud rushing river today. We have a ponding basin down the road from us and it can't take much more rain.

cjomomma, I'm at South Marshall and we've got water standing where it NEVER does...the house is on a rise, so I'm not concerned for me, but it is a royal mess for sure...
Mom is headed for the Museum right now...she'll call me when she knows something. She thinks they'll go ahead and have it at the Convention Center but keep crews on call to finish closing the gates. For those of you who aren't familiar, there are quite a few floodgates that they can close...they'll probably go ahead and close everything but the two closest to the CC. That's my guess, anyway.

We live on a rise too and Murray has one of the best drainage systems I have ever seen so I don't think we will have much of a problem. I feel sorry for those who are already dealing with some flooding.

That's going to put a huge amount of things in the Pavilion...it was nice and roomy last year...bet, we'll not have that luxury this time....but at least it IS outside the flood wall. They are predicting possibly the second highest river crest since records have been kept...only surpassed by the 1937 Flood: http://www.google.com/search?q=1937+...ls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=ivnsu&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=_ZC1TfGVH4Gftwfo-J3qDg&ved=0CFwQsAQ&biw=1600&bih=699
