The car show for this weekend is still on!

Local quilt shows are rescheduling. I am not happy. If one is sick..stay home. Pretty simple.

Problem with this is symptoms take several days to show and by that time you could infect others. If everyone gets on board now the spread will be minimized. It’s not panic, just common sense and consideration for others.

I am in metro Atlanta. The Quilting and Sewing Expo shut down a day early. Many things cancelled around here. For the vulnerable population it is very serious. Agree with Cattitude - if we are all careful we can minimize spread and sickness. Small price to pay in the scheme of things. The death Rate is higher than with regular flu so far. No reason for death is good, but, if we know some facts about this, it isn't much to ask not to spread to people who have a greater chance of dying. I have a sick son I care for. We are sticking close to home as much as possible. I'd hate for someone who thinks they aren't sick to spread a germ to him.

If you generally don't follow the news either local or national, you may not know that all the major ball leagues: basketball, baseball, soccer, etc have canceled the rest of their season or postponed the start of the season. Even the College Basketball tournament AKA March Madness has been canceled. the Masters Golf tournament has been postponed. All the colleges in SC have suspended classes for online instruction starting after spring break. The Disney theme parks have closed. The Disney Cruises and Princess Cruises have cancelled all cruises. Concerts have been postponed or canceled. In some areas, local schools are closed. And many many more events have been canceled or postponed. The idea is to keep large groups of people from gathering to minimize the spread of this virus. This is a very serious virus in that it is very new and no vaccine or specialized treatment is currrently available.
I personally don't feel in a panic but will continue with the same and some enhanced activities I use to avoid the flu. I live far out of town and always have a supply of everything that could tide me over for a couple of weeks if I am unable to get to a store.

The AQS Lancaster quilt show is cancelled as of yesterday.

Everything's been cancelled here; many things are off until mid April. Some of the events were taking place in churches and the churches are closed so the event had to be cancelled. Sometimes all local schools are closed and the policy is to not meet if schools are closed. Sometimes they organizers just felt it was the safe thing to do.

Just got an email that the MQX show in NH scheduled for April 14 week is cancelled.

I got an email today that my quilt guild has cancelled the April meeting and also the charity bee. I'm thinking my bee's next meeting probably won't happen.

I am a member of 5 different quilting groups... They have all been cancelled [sigh]
