Pattyjo oh no it was no more casino! I had two stops to make before going to work! I had to open the tasting room at 1:00! I just made it!

Karen-WOW another grandbaby! You have been so blessed can I start adopting your children that might be the only way I would get more grandbabies! Such good news!

I can't wait for November! It seems so far away but I don't want to rush it because I need summer to be here for awhile!

candlequilter 06-19-2011 01:51 PM

Congrats Karen on another new wee one to spoil. I am still waiting for someday to be a grams, but not yet.

Very exciting for everyone especially the parents if they have tried for so long.

Have a great weekend,
Sherryl

Sherryl, don't send away your kitties on my behalf. If I sleep in one of the cat-free rooms, everything will be just fine. I love cats, just have to keep a little distance.

Karen, congrats on the new little sweetheart joining your life. What a blessing he/she will be for your family!

Pattyjo7686 06-19-2011 10:13 PM

Can she be the bad bingo prize this time?? What a little cute pie I would take her in a heart beat. She's got to be a treasure.
No another casino... I need to sew.. Keep telling myself that no casino.. no casino..
Oh yeah FB my son has ban me from talking to his friends so better get back to mine. OK I'm going to find you tonight on FB.
Can't wait until Nov I will be there unless a blizzard in the way of DQ comes along then I will just be a bit late.
I just might show up this summer an be the first one there think I would be spotted if I just hid out until Nov. My hubby might wonder now an then were I went.

KarenBarnes 06-20-2011 06:01 AM

stitchy65 06-21-2011 07:04 PM

I am seriously considering going.

sew cornie 06-21-2011 08:01 PM

As far as I can tell, I'll be there.

KarenBarnes 06-22-2011 06:00 AM

I'm still waiting for confirmation from my DIL but it doesn't look like I'll be able to make it! When our kids turn 8 they have the opportunity to be baptized and that is the weekend that my oldest GS has that opportunity. Can't miss a big event like that! I'm both happy and sad about the weekend!

Pattyjo7686 06-22-2011 06:07 AM

Just got word this week that my brother 2 yr. older than me has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and got phneumonia MS word yesterday he has been in hospital for a week now. He's cancer is rare but started in kidney moved to liver and lungs. They are just trying to get him home ASAP. He is a big man more than we can handle. They say he could go anytime not expected to last more than a week or two.
He just retired and his wife retired from teaching this wear. Then they got this news my heart is braking but most of all for his wife and older boys. I'm takeing mom to see him today they are going to lower drugs so he is able to talk today. So verry verry sad. I would love your prayers. Thank's

My calendar is pretty much wide open except for the second half of August - I think I am going to mozey to Virginia for 10 to 14 days then. But any other time than that is just fine with me. Do you all want come up in September, October or November? Any time would be fine. Throw out some dates that we can pass around and see what works best for the majority. Oh I am getting excited just thinking about it. Here are the fabric stores nearby: JoAnn's 2 1/2 miles, Material Girls 3 miles, Pacific Fabrics 9 miles, Heirloom Quilts 10 miles, Kingston Quilt Shop 15 miles and last but not least Quilted Straits 18 miles.

Thanks for asking,

Feathers 06-26-2011 09:07 AM

PattyJo: I'm so sorry about your brother. We have already put him in our daily prayers. Your family is also being prayed for. Hugs to you and your family and your brother.

Nov. seems so far away....CAN I WAIT THAT LONG? I would lOVE to come to the retreat. Blizzards are good....the ice cream kind, not the snow kind. I'm with Pattyjo...I think I'll forego any casino visits this trip. The last casino marathon I participated in took me a week to recover.

CBridges, I feel so sorry for your poor body....it suffers some pretty rigorous maladies for a day off. Keep up the good work! You add sooooo much fun and laughter to the retreat mix of wonderful ladies.

Stitchy65, good luck on your new job! I'm praying you are the successful hire for the new position you are applying for. They will surely see you are one of the nicest, best qualified candidates they have interviewed for the position.

Sherryl, trying out your long arm would be such fun. I've wanted a LA forever and passed on the chance to get one a few years ago when that was what my DH said he wanted to get me for Christmas/birthday and I told him not to as I didn't think I was a good enough or knowledge enough quilter to have a LA....was I nuts? The offer has never come up again! :-(

Karen, I'm so happy for your children and your family. There is nothing more wonderful in the world than a new baby. Bet you can't wait. We have our 3rd great grand baby (a pink model) due Aug. 4th. She'll be the second girl and one great grandson.

I'm packing my bags for November!

KarenBarnes 06-26-2011 02:11 PM

I've confirmed that I'm not going to be able to make it in November! :( Maybe we can have a get together between now and then? Anybody want to host for the first time? I'm willing but thought that others might like a chance. Preferably a Saturday? I love that we all have lots of new friends!

quiltingnonie 06-26-2011 05:05 PM

Whatever will we do without all your wonderful organizing skills, Karen :?: :?: ( Altho, I'm sure Sherryl will do fine )

I have been considering hosting one of our regular get togethers, but right now am waiting to see a Neurosurgeon....and can't forsee what he may have in store for me. We'll see.......

You are all wecome to come out here again! Maybe we can get the new deck in by then.

I also have "the park" area if anyone wants to RV or camp out.
(DH will have it mowed by then~a little overgrown right now.)

I'm thinking about inviting everybody over Labor Day weekend (for one day only), but haven't talked to DH yet.

Feathers I would love to have you come in November, but I feel that I need to tell you now that my longarm machine is on the second floor - so that means a flight and a half of stairs (18 total). I have the master bedroom down on the ground floor that you can use, but the longarm is upstairs. Wish there was someway I could bring it down for you but that would be a major production and I don't think DH would allow me to do that. Everything else will be set up on the ground floor for sewing, eating and whatever else.

Thanks and looking forward to November,
Sherryl

cbridges22 06-27-2011 05:51 AM

2 Doods that sounds like a winner. When were you thinking about? Carol as always I am gone camping over Labor day so I would have to miss that one.

Here goes making another baby quilt! :)

My DIL is due July 15th, but hoping for an earlier delivery. I haven't made the new baby a quilt yet. We had a shower June 12th, and she received lots of lady bug motif items. I'll keep you all posted.

We have a baby girl born June 25th at 6:03 a.m.. Her name is Olivia Grace. She weighed in at 6 pounds and 6 ounces and is 19" tall. I'm going to meet her tomorrow for the first time! And I got her older sister's quilt done! You can see at on the board at "My granddaughter's quilt".

That sounds great, Alice! Do you have any idea when you would like to do it?

quiltingnonie 06-27-2011 04:24 PM

Congratulations, Carol! Hope Mom & baby are doing well. We have grandbaby #2 due Sept 1st. Can't wait :-)

KarenBarnes 06-27-2011 05:54 PM

Yay, Carol! So glad that she arrived safely and that you got the quilt done! You definitely were busy at the retreat.

I just found out that neither of my sons in FL will be able to come to our family reunion next month and that mom and baby might not make it either! :( This long distance grandma stuff stinks!!!

quiltingnonie 06-27-2011 07:55 PM

Ohhh, so sorry Karen. WHY the heck do our kids have to move away??????

KarenBarnes 06-27-2011 08:15 PM

That's why I always encouraged them to go to school locally but this son met his wife during his mission and then joined the Navy!
