Glad to hear you got all the deposit back! That's really great! Thank you again for all the time and energy you put into organizing the retreat at the beach! It was very nice to meet everyone.

So glad to hear that. I was just thinking about this a couple of days ago. Thanks for all you did to coordinate for us!

Not a problem, it was worth it!

BTW I just found out that I don't need to go to Florida again this year! Tomi and Christopher are coming to the reunion after all! I still don't get to have my two youngest sons here but they're adults and don't count as much as the baby! :) I'm doing a happy dance!

I just lost a close friend I grew up with of a massive heart attack she had not been sick. Just one week from my brothers funeral. A friend and I went to the funeral together it was like a class reunion seen lots of high school class mates. While we were there my friend got a call from her husband and a good friend of there's got into a motorcycle accident an died. Wow what's going on.. Please all of you take care of yous self's an live your life like it is your last day you just never know. See you all soon.

Hi Everyone:
I'm so sad to hear about your friends passing, Pattyjo. You have just been through it! HUGS to you! I'm so very sorry. I agree with you about living life like each day is your last ...it just could be.

I'm going to try to get the Sisters pictures on the site later today. I've been kind of waiting and watching to see if I have some quilts photographed that no one else took pictures of. There were soooooo many beautiful works of art I'm sure nobody could see all of them.

Found out Friday that I'll have my right hip replacement done on Aug. 18th. I'd do a happy dance if it didn't hurt so much!

Hugs to all of you. Can't wait til our next get-together or retreat.

sew cornie 07-18-2011 03:51 PM

Good News - Bad News

First for the good news - I got accepted for a positon that I had applied for. I have been applying for a full time job off and on for over a year. So, I am very happy that I am finally going back to work!!!!!!!!!! One of the main reasons I wanted to go back to work full time is so that I can eventually buy a Statler Stitchery for my Gammill.

Now for the bad news - Because I am going back to work full time I don't think it would be a very good idea for me to try and have the retreat in November at my house. I won't be getting home from work until 6:30 pm at the earliest on that Friday and I know for you ladies coming up from Oregon that would be an awful long drive for a short retreat. Basically we would just have Saturday and part of Sunday. But, I am open to whatever you ladies think - please let me know.

Thanks,
Sherryl

Hi Sherryl:
Working full time and being on a relatively new job in Nov. I think I would probably go with your inclination that it wouldn't be a good thing to do. There's always another time. I wanted to come but sure know how a full time job can get in the way of fun-type stuff. I'm good with you cancelling.

Congrats on this new job. Hope it's exactly what you want and that it'll challenge you but also allows you to learn lots of new things. If not, just remember why you are working!
:-P

Colbaltjars62 07-22-2011 05:39 PM

Sherryl,
Way to go! I'm so happy for you. :D
Don't worry about November, it's all good. We can always do it some other time.

quiltingnonie 07-22-2011 05:46 PM

There will be other times, other places, and we hope you will still be able to join us :)
Congrats on the job  What type of posistion is it?

KarenBarnes 07-22-2011 07:43 PM

Congrats on the job, Sherryl! Now you can get the machine of your dreams living up to your dream! We'll try for another time.

cbridges22 07-22-2011 08:24 PM

Congrats! Now you can help support me when I get laid off!

stitchy65 07-22-2011 09:08 PM

Congrats on the new job! No worries about the retreat. There will be plenty of other times that it can be planned for. Good luck with the new job!

candlequilter 07-22-2011 10:35 PM

Thanks everyone for your understanding and well wishes. I am very excited to get back to work.

:D :D Sherryl :D :D

sew cornie 07-23-2011 09:30 PM

Sherryl, Congratulations on your new job! As others have said, we can do a retreat some other time. No worries. Thank you for offering to host anyway and best of luck in your new position!

Sandy - this is going to be it! Everything will go so well for you and you will be back to climbing stairs and probably running laps before long!

Hello everyone! Sure hope we can get together soon!

cbridges22 07-24-2011 05:16 AM

Maybe we could look at renting the same place we stayed in last time?

Hi Winewoman: Thanks for your words of confidence building. I'm sure the surgery will go well and the surgeon has even said "this time we won't let any surprizes get by us!" I feel confident the surgery will go well.

What did ya'll do that I missed?

Wine Woman 07-25-2011 06:09 AM

Cindy, we went to the quilt show in Centralia. It was a smaller one but nice. Here's the link- www.quiltingboard.com/t-138726-1.htm

I know the link for all of us to look at in the first part of the posting. I would say about page 10-15? I hope that's a close range!!

Here it is: http://www.oregonvacationcabins.com/ (The Sea Haven house is the one we are going to use.) I was able to go and get it before my time expired to change things!

KarenBarnes 07-25-2011 06:42 AM

Thanks Cindy for posting the link!

I'm sad that I missed the fun on Saturday but now that my kids are at distance, I have to take all opportunities to spend time with them! Besides, I bought a new food dehydrator to make more yummy treats!!

Colbaltjars62 07-25-2011 05:05 PM

Karen,
As I said, you were missed. But we totally understand seeing your children whenever you can. Please never be sad about that.
We all love you just the way you are, never change.
Now, Can I put my order in for dried Pineapple? It is sooo yummy...

quiltingnonie 07-25-2011 07:43 PM

O.K.,found out yesterday that I won't be laid off but will have a change in my job with a 5% pay reduction.I guess that is better than a poke in the eye.I have also applied with Hospice which is in our hospital system. So for now I am working, thank the Lord!
