I'm allergic to watermelon and canteloupe. Easy to avoid and not a problem if someone plans to bring those. The peanuts are just a concern for my kids, so no worries there.
Any diabetics in the group? |

Update for the day! We're getting closer! The address for the house is 5299 NW 53rd Drive Lincoln City. You will need to bring a sleeping bag or flat sheets for the beds as there are no linens, pillows and towels/cloths.
Food: Condiments and a pound cake and coffee (Cbridges), a turkey, etc (Feathers) a chicken lasagna and Costco muffins (quilttiludrop), red wine (Winewoman), birthday cake for 2Doods & Feathers and snacking vegetables (Karen), veggie/dip tray and salad (2Doods), fruit, ice cream, Hershey's syrup and a variety of teas (SewCornie), dessert (mistiliz), Ham, Roastbeef and Turkey for lunch along with some lettuce, tomatoes, bread, etc (TrishB) Patty Jo is thinking about bringing baked beans. Feathers has a bingo game and a word game. Bring 3 fat quarters (purchased or cut it yourself). Quiltingnonie is going to show us PP and will post a supply list. I have listed as paid: 2 Doods, Feathers, Sharon, WineWoman, CobaltJars, SewCornie, Cbridges, mistiliz, quilttiludrop, PattyJo, Stitchy65, UglyCook, TrishB, Lilrain and myself. Check is in the mail for Bluelady and I've heard now from Candlequilter and Kalena that want to come! That puts us at 18. We for sure will begin to share beds if more people come from this point on! The house holds a total of 22. Have a Happy Mother's Day! |
Thanks for all your good work Karen. Cindy

Can hardly wait. Thanks, Sherryl |
Dropped my check in the mail today. I can bring potato salad if thats okay with everyone. Plus I can bring a sack of potatoes and a couple dozen eggs in case anyone wants that for breakfasts.
Thanks, Sherryl |
Are we going to need ice chests to accomodate all the food that needs refrigeration? I could try to borrow one if y'all think we need one. or maybe someone will be transporting their cold items in one and we can use it. Enough food for 15-16 people for three days is going to take up quite a bit of space. I will look at the food list again and try to figure out some things that will not require refrigeration.
|
Hey everyone...don't forget there is a Safeway right up the street!
|
There is a second full kitchen downstairs! We'll be fine! Laurie is right though, the Safeway is about a 1/4 mile.

I have an ice chest I can bring if we want to keep any drinks on ice. I just need to know if I should bring it or not.
|
I think with two refrigerators that we will be fine unless you want to have gallons of drinks to keep cold. I personally am a water drinker.
As of this moment we will need to close the retreat to any more people. The final check for the remaining people goes in the mail as soon as I receive their funds. My DIL goes in tomorrow to have an inversion (turning the baby) and possibly for induction! I could have a new granddaughter in just a few days! I'm so excited and nervous as well. If the doctor can't get her to turn the right direction it will mean a c-section. Not a great thing but glad that there is an option! Will keep you updated on this... |
I can also bring a tuna casserole if you think it will get ate. I hat cooking so Safeway is out that means cooking I just want to quilt and have fun not cook I do that enough at home.
|
Will we need to bring tables and chairs since there is only the one 10 foot table and 10 chairs?
Thanks, Sherryl Candlequilter |
I've never used this house before so I don't really know what the table situation will be. Last year we had a 7 foot table and some set up to sew there and a couple had brought mini tables. We just ate picnic style. It worked pretty well but this year we have double the people so I would say if you have a small table it would be a good bring. I have a TV tray sized one I thought about bringing. Not sure exactly what I'm going to be doing at the moment. Probably trying to finish up my handquilting!
|
Sure hope everything goes well for your DIL, Karen. Is this one nearby so you can be waiting and available if needed?
My DD/SIL announced on Mother's Day that they are expecting AGAIN!! Due in Sept....a new grandbaby to love just in time for my retirement! |

My DD/SIL announced on Mother's Day that they are expecting AGAIN!! Due in Sept....a new grandbaby to love just in time for my retirement! Laurie, due in Sept?? Wasn't Jimena born in Nov? Boy, will they have their hands full! Congratulations!! |
Thanx, Jen. Yes, she will be one BUSY Mom. Jimena was born Oct. 15th. I thought my two were close together - born 361 days and 8 hours apart. She's got me beat! And once again, they prefer NOT to know the sex of the baby, so will be kept in suspense. I think this time however, I will wait until after the baby is born to make a quilt!
P.S. Anyone got a good used DOUBLE stroller for sale? |
I love that they're waiting till the baby's born. We didn't find out with either of ours either and if I had to do it over again, I'd do it just the same. Again, congratulations! You must be on Cloud 9!
|
OH! Baby! Baby! You lucky grandmas! Hope you will bring you "brag books" to the beach!

Both my sister Sharon and I want to learn paper piecing. Count us in! Sandy |

I m bringing the turkey which can be eaten for lunch or dinners...I'll have it all sliced and ready to eat whenever anyone wants to go for it. I hope to be able to find one about 25 pounds so we'll have lots. I also thought I might make a bunch of gravy for hot turkey sandwiches.
I have no allergies to food except I, too, get puffed up and tip the scales way far to the right but that isn't caused by an allergy....it's my love of good food that triggers my maladies! |
