Punxsutawney PA quilting day
#41
This was new to me today - it's an annual get-together of quilters from within ~1 hour or so. There were folks from Bradford, Smethport, Brookville, Punxsutawney, Kersey, St. Marys... They show-off what they've made. Lots of fat quarters given away (you gave a FQ when you walked in the door, then they gave bundles of them away throughout the day). There were a few vendors - quilt shops from St. Marys, Brockway, Cranberry, & Reynoldsville. I spent a little $ on some FQ's. It was fun to see what gorgeous things folks have been making. I'll gladly share with you how I make my yo-yo's. There are yo-yo makers, but I doubt they used a contraption in the olden days & I do the same.

I have lots of projects I need to finish-up. I am exchanging a fall wall-hanging with a lady in my fabric postcard group. It needs to be bound & a few more beads added as embellishment. That's a possibility if I don't have it finished by then. I would really like to get my yo-yo Christmas tree done in time for THIS year. I am signed-up for an ornament exchange here on the board. I have my design, just need time to make them. Also, hope to make a wall-hanging or table runner for me in time for Christmas. I have started it, but other projects keep getting in the way. I am excited for sure!

This is my first time with an "official" away-from-home sewing gathering (versus in the car waiting for kids). Just wondering if there is an iron available for group use? Also, I'll see if I can google directions, but may be calling to be sure I don't waste time trying to find your place.

Bonni does have irons available for use by the group. I will bring some kind of dessert - I can only stay until around 1:30 since I have to have to go to work after. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
