I've started hopping - well, a tiny little jump anyway. I went to the shop here in town - The Cedar Chest in El Campo. Got my passport stamped and already used my $5 coupon. A friend has been in Texas City and Dickinson. We were going to baby sitting a grandboy this weekend and now we're not so ... road trip - a tiny little one anyway.

    Where has anyone else been?

I visited 3 shops in Region 4 today already and look forward to visit more during the month. I'm not sure what's so special about "star" quilt shop - maybe I missed something but I don't see anything so unique with "star" shop?

Then I won't be so jealous that there aren't any star shops in my region. There's no way I'm going to complete a region - unless I tood off from work to do it. :) But I'll have fun going to the ones I can.

The FAQ page on the Quilt Across Texas site has this to say about "star" shops:

    What does the star beside
some of the shop listings mean?
These are Star Shops, and you don't want to miss what they have to offer!

So I guess you found them okay to miss!

Five of us are leaving in about 30 minutes to go to Whitesboro, Gainsville, Denton, Crossroads, Lewisville, and who knows where else. It all depends on time. Have fun

We made just two today - that's three in all so far. Had a baby shower to go to this morning and the shops are just so far apart...

Pt. Lavaca: Bee-fore It's a Quilt - favor is a key chain and pattern for a block

Victoria: Quilter's Patch - favor is a sample bottle of Best Press and a pattern for a block.

El Campo: The Cedar Chest - favor is a fat quarter and a pen - plus the block pattern.

We met a couple at both shops today who were getting 6 in this weekend. How fun!

In each shop I'm getting a fat quarter or two for my Farmer's Wife Sampler quilt. Gives me something to look for that's not going to break the bank.

I started in Denton on Thursday. Yesterday I went to Lewisville, Carrollton, Mesquite, and Garland. It was quite a journey with a 2yr old! LOL
