The final ever Quilt Hawaii will be held on Kaua'i this June 27-30 at the Kaua'i Beach Resort -- just a couple of miles north of the Lihue Airport. To visit the show costs $3.00. There might still be space in a few of the classes -- check their website online. This is an interesting show, with quilts showing Asian, Pacific and Hawaiian influences....a great way to get a look at quilts from the 50th state and beyond using many different fabrics too, not found in mainland fabric stores. There are three fabric stores on the island, supporting this show with vendor booths, along with other vendors who come in just for this event, see new notions! Come and enjoy. The website also offers day trips via escorted tour buses that you can sign up for...be part of a busload of quilters!

Hulalulu

While this is the last Quilt Hawaii show, the larger islands all have local shows, mostly annually. The difference really is in the classes taught -- local shows have local teachers -- and we have some excellent teachers locally. For a small island like Kaua'i, we have a very devoted quilting community! Not many places our size can boast of three LQS these days....

I spent a week in May at the Kauai Beach Resort. Wish I had know about the quilt show in June and I might have gone at that time instead of June. The resort is a great place to stay with such helpful and friendly employees. I'm sure I am missing a great quilt show.
