Hi, I am going on a business trip with my husband to Goodyear, AZ. While he is busy I was hoping to visit some quilt shops. Can anyone make recommendations of shops in or around the Goodyear area?

There is only one LQS in the town of Goodyear. It is called Bearly Stitchin, it is on the northwest corner of Indian School Rd and Litchfield Rd (in the same area as the Wal-Mart Neighborhood store) Addy 14270 W. Indian School Rd. C-9.

If you want to travel a few miles (about 17 miles) there is a LQS at 9857 W. Bell Rd in Sun City. It will be 7 miles east and 10 miles north of Bearly Stitchin (about).

The other one that is on the west side of town is Quilter's Bee. That one is at 7549 W. Cactus Rd, Peoria Suite 111

I just did the Maricopa Shop Hop with 13 stores so if you want any of the others let me know--The rest are on 'the other side' of town, meaning the other side of Central (which is the middle of the valley).

Let me know when you are going to be here and maybe we can meet up. I am off work on Wed and Fridays.

it's not in goodyear but is on the west side of phoenix and is a wonderful quilting store - 35th ave sew and vac./fabric world. on 35th ave and northern i believe. and if you look it up online i believe you can get a coupon for a discount on fabric too. i live over in mesa and had heard about it for a long time but never been there and finally went about a month ago - and spent 2 hours there!

Bearly Stitching is a wonderful shop. So is Sun Valley Quilts in Sun City & 35th Ave is a huge store. You might want to go look at Mulqueen's, which is a sewing machine retail shop, but they have a fairly nice selection of fabrics. If you buy 10 yards, the price goes down to $4.95 yd. (That was last spring, it's probably a little more now) Their address is 7838 N 59th in Glendale,
There is also a small shop on Bell & Reems in Surprise, I think in a small mall there, (I've forgotten the name of it) that has some nice fabrics, but not a big selection.
My sister-in-law and I did an all day tour last spring and I think we found all the shops on the west side, ha.
