You must go to Pine Needles one of the shops on craftiladi's search. Jill (owner)is missed in our town where she had her first shop. There's also some shops around Kalona, a small community south of CR. Enjoy Iowa!

Not sure what roads you will be traveling, but western Illinois has some good small quilt shops in Sterling, Morrison, and Fulton.

Marion/Cedar Rapids – Check out Connie’s Quilt Shop and The Cottage Rose. They are both in Marion and are about two blocks apart.

I absolutely love Connies in Marion. :D It's in an old house and very cramped but tons of really nice fabrics there. Cottage Rose in Marion is really wonderful also....

There is, if you will be traveling I-80 or going to be near Leclaire Iowa..on the way to Cedar Rapids...a really nice shop in Leclaire. I'm sorry that I can't remember the name of it right now, but I know from Mom and Sis in law that they have a website and are really great to deal with.

P.S. I'm only about 45 minutes away from Cedar Rapids :D

Hugs and have a safe trip.
Also, you should take the time to go to the Amana's. THere is a really awesome shop called Heritage Quilt shop in an old renovated barn.
Again...be safe and have lots of fun :D Tigger :D
