An urge for something in ivory/white started this quilt off with a desire for lots of ivory and a touch of white. Wanted at least 1/2 the block ivory so started with 3-1/2" squares. Next my sashings and cornerstones would finish at 1-1/2"; wanted no more or no less. Playing with the whole squares on the design wall with sashings revealed a better looking block than the HST blocks. Then I decided to merge the two. Have no idea of the name of these blocks. This quilt just developed on its own. It's 40" square. I cut from yardage to give it a "from the scrap bag" look but a few blocks did come from the scrap bag. The rest of the blocks were from precut squares on hand. I like the secondary patterns that emerge and hope you like it too! I think it would be pretty made into full size. One little bird showed up to check it out!~

That is very pretty. I am always amazed when people can put things together like this and have it turn out wonderful. I'm just not imaginative enough to do that. Great job.

After awhile, littlehud, I just starting putting blocks on the design wall without paying any attn to color! Then other areas, I labored too long, but think it's best to just put them on the wall and let it do its thing. They turn out better sometimes that way than all our best planning! Try it sometime. No imagination is necessary! You'll be surprised at how great it looks!! Thank you!!

Wow - that's really nice! I love the cheerful colors and the use of mixed blocks.
