The quilt is beautiful, but the memories it must bring must touch your heart and hopefully your sister will also remember those clothes lines and your mother hanging clothes out to dry.

You are right on!! It really does look like Nebraska. My Mother had Morning Glories on the wash line pole too and there were sunflowers along the fence rows. Ah memories.

    BEAUTIFUL !! What a meaningful quilt !

Sunflowers are my FAV flower - I lived in Kansas growing up and remember the BIG fields of sunflowers behind our house and all around my grandmother's place too :)

She lives in N.Y. and I live in WA, however, we both were born and raised in the Heartland..... Nebraska. Our mother (who now resides with the angels) grew blue morning glories at the base of her clothesline post & by the end of summer they would have climbed all the way to the top and each morning would bloom bright & cheery. Sunflowers grow abundantly in Nebraska - in many a roadside ditch, pasture, hillside & even an occasional farmer's field. When I saw the combination of both flowers in one fabric, I KNEW I had to make a Stack n' Whack quilt with it! It's my favorite pattern.

My hope is that when my sis looks at her quilt, it will bring back fond memories of her Nebraska childhood -- and our mom's love of flowers. By the way..... mom was a quilter ;)

    Thanks for looking,
I enjoy seeing all YOUR lovely photos!!
