Gorgeous!!! I just love blue and white quilts. Beautiful job on the quilting. I hope some day I can graduate from meandering to FMQ feathers. Very nice!

These feathers are easy Cheri - from the book "Hooked on Feathers" by Sally Terry. It has changed my fmq immensely - here is a link to a post about it

Beautiful quilt & Beautiful quilting. I'm trying to learn the FMQ and so far can only do the meandering quilting style. How in the world can you do the feathers and other quilting patterns? I've tried to do feathers on a practice piece and it looked like loops gone crazy. Do you follow a paper quilting pattern or use a marker? I aspire to do what you are doing! I'm sure to get this good you have to do a lot of practice. Thanks for sharing!!

Yes, inquiring minds want to know, do you mark your quilt? Which, by the way is just beautiful!!!

Debbie and Maggie - no I dont mark at all, it's totally freehand.
See my post above about the feathering method, it's a great method, no backtracking and is very easy.
And yes I do practise what I'm going to do alot - but mostly on paper just to get the feel of it, then perhaps one practice sandwich before I start. And I always have a couple of minutes on a scrap at the start of a new session!
