Hi everyone, this was made using the octogan technique in the book 'One Block Wonders' by Maxine Rosenthal. I've made a lot of quilts using her hexagon method but this is the only octogan one I've done. I think I prefer the hexagons as they interlock and the blocks are much more hidden but I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out! I quilted a trailing leaf design based on a motif in the original fabric in the main body and the same design but in more detail in the border, all freehand on my Janome 6600. This piece is 54" x 54" and will be for sale via my website in the next few days. Thanks for looking. :-D

Original fabric - thanks again gaigai!

I really love the way you add the 4 patch blocks in the border. Beautiful quilt.
