Okay here I go on your quilt! I love the colors. I love the Blocks. I really love the machine quilting! I also think you are way to hard on yourself! Relax and enjoy the process. Did you learn while making this quilt? Yes you did. Can you do better? Yes you can. Will you do better on the next project? You betcha! After 30 years of quilting my motto is finished is better than perfect! He loves the quilt you made just for him. Trust me on how wonderful that is. Enjoy quilting it is a passion! Luann

I think the key to your statement is DH loves it! I learn with every quilt I make. Some of the first ones are my worst ones but, I use them the most. You did a terrific job, learn to forgive yourself and move on to the next one.

Ugly, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. The fabric choices are great, but then I'm a fan of red/white/blue!
However, I thoroughly understand how over-extending myself combined with a fast approaching deadline could make you think the quilt is ugly. Just gave my granddaughter (19 years) her quilt, and told her it was the quilt from hell because of all the mistakes in it.
I followed that up with, "But it's like a good life - lots of mistakes along the way, but in the end it looks pretty good."
