    Great job with the quilting! Maybe the wacky block is what made the creator put it away rather than finish it.

    I Sat through an AQS appraisal for a quilt top that had been hand pieced in 1926. The appraiser suggested machine quilting...to better preserve the quilt top and it has no affect in the value.
