Default 100 year old quilt top I quilted

This quilt top was pieced in 1900,then rolled in a sheet and put in a cedar chest for years. My friend let me machine quilt it..not the hand quilting it likely should have had...but now can be gently used by the owner. You'll note the wacky block...even in 1900 ,the issues were the same!

Beautiful Job! Too bad it got put away for all those years, but we would never have seen it otherwise! Thank you for sharing.

what a lovely quilt! And I love the turned block! You did a great job on the quilting and so what if it "should have been hand quilted"? You are right, it probably would have sat in the cedar chest another 20+ years before that may have happened!

What a beauty it is. At least it will be treasured now.

I disagree that it "should" have been hand quilted. You did a fine job of bringing a lovely top to completion so it will be properly appreciated.

It's a great old quilt. I'm glad you finished it, and your machine quilting only enhances it. Great job.
