1842 quilt

OH, dont sell it. You may NEVER have the chance again to own such a beautiful quilt. Do you know if it was handed down through your family? That would make it even more precious. It is absolutly gorgeous, and looks to be in excellent condtion. The colors are still vibrant and the border looks wonderful. I dont think a small stain will devalue it at all. I hope you decide to keep it and display it....it is just wondeful!

I would do a web search. Also you might contact or look up the University of Nebraska to find more information. I think they have a large collection and this might be a great resource. You could google quilt museums and see if one is in your area.
I am not sure selling would be my choice.

I have an antique crazy quilt and in 1966 there was a Massachusetts Documentation Project and this group advises on history and make-up of quilts. The quilt was documented by this group and through this site I was told that this Documentation Project was conducted all over the United States. You may try to google and see what information you get. Beautiful Quilt a treasure.
