1930's quilt done and I don't like yellow
#51
Thanks everyone for taking a look and the nice compliments. As for the color yellow - I chose it because it was a color used in the 30's and my grandmother liked yellow. Since the quilt it called Almost a Flower Garden it made me think of my grandmother and her flowers.
For the label I take a pice of freezer paper and iron a piece of fabric on the shinney side (no steam and I usually just use muslin) cut it exactly 11 X 81/2 (the size of typing paper) and put it in my printer. I design my label on the computer and then print it - I use HP Deskjet Ink. Then "peel" the fabric from the paper and take a hot dry iron and "set" the ink. You can wash the fabric and the ink doesn't come off or bleed. Try it on a scrap and wash it.
I have a Pfaff Grand Quilter - got it earlier this year - really love it - but I would like a larger quilting space - maybe someday. Hope I didn't bore you all - I may get up the courage to post some more pics.

Love it!!! Interestingly, I have some 30s fabrics and just that yellow for background sitting in a bag on my shelf waiting for the time to do it. Lovely!!!! I LOVE the yellow!!!

very beautiful work. The Yellow is a very cheery color. Even tho I probably would shy away from yellows and pinks myself because I know I can't wear them...(does that make sense)...those colors make me look sorta sick or jaundiced. But...like someone else said...you have to learn to like some colors because of the way they make other colors "pop" in a pattern.
Congrats and please keep showing us your beautiful work. (lucky you to have your own longarm...I'm green with envy :) )
