Julie---I love your quilt too. I have several quilts that my grandmother made in the 1930's and three of them use that same shade of yellow in it. It was a very popular choice in the 30's and it makes your quilt look very vintage---great job!!!

And your quilting is fab, too!

That is beautiful! Such a great job, and a scalloped border too! You are a pro! Good job and thanks for sharing.

I love your quilt with the yellow background. It really makes it look like you have saved it from the past. I hope you do more of them. It is so cheerful!

I love all the southern quilts done in the pastel background colors. I remember traveling through the south when I was a child with my family and seeing them on clothes lines or front porches with for sale signs in the front of the white houses. It was majical to see them flapping in the wind. :D

I have recently began clipping pictures from the huge stack of magazines I am getting rid of and most of them have that type of background to them. Funny ...huh? I guess we are thinking alike.

Your quilt is beautiful, maybe some day I will be that good at doing this.
I did a Granny's Flower Garden as my first quilt also using the 1930s fabric. I will try to post a picture of mine.

Correction, not all my fabric was the 1930s repro's, I think only 3 of them.
I started quilting in February of this year and love it. I have made 7 quilts so far or I should say throws and a table topper.
