I think your beautiful quilt and all the little HST pinwheels within pinwheels within one huge pinwheel speaks for itself. IMO non of the borders work very well. Something simple, maybe light and dark narrow solids, would showcase this beauty! WOW. For an old UFO this is really a cool quilt.

I like the small flower border.

I admire your stick to it attitude and made success happen. I like your pinwheel pattern. I think the simple purple border (maybe a bit smaller) would be nice. I like the braid (?) trim. I have redone a few things in my quilting life and I have always been glad I did.

Colorful and nice. I also have one that I started in 1998. Now I'm going to have to finish mine. Hope I had bought enough material as I'm sure it might be hard to find now.

A pinwheel within a pinwheel. This is a great quilt. I love the fabric with the larger flowers but think the smaller flowers would be a better choice...

I love the way you laid out the quilt so that the smaller pinwheels make the giant one. Very clever! I don't think you really need a border on the quilt, just a nicely coordinated binding. However, I do like Tothill's suggestion (if you do a solid border) of putting a small pinwheel in each corner. Please show us your finished quilt once you decide.

Looks great! I would suggest a solid border, it would really make the entire quilt POP.

Love the large floral but I think it should be flipped to have the purple to the inside.
