    I started quilting last winter and for some reason I've been afraid to try SID. I decided that a small project like this table runner (also a 1st) would be a good place to learn. I went slow & for the most part stayed in the ditch!! The next table runner that I do in this pattern I don't think I'll do the FMQ in the center square...I just don't think it looks right.

    That is lovely, the pattern of the runner is fab and I am inclined to contradict you, I love the FMQ in the centre block it gives it an added dimension.

    Looks good to me! I like the FMQ, too. Maybe you'd like it better with a print or darker color in the center? I've been a topper for years and now really want to try FMQ....you're already ahead of me! WTG!

    I agree! Maybe you could use a variegated thread next time? I think it looks great.
