This is the quilt I made for my first quilt challenge. I had a fat quarter with the large flowers and butterflies found in the border and had to come up with some kind of pattern. Since I am new to quilting and had no stash I had to buy all the fabrics to go with it. The embroidery was hand stitched. I got 2nd place!

That is simply fantastic!!! I just love all the bright colors, and to do applique on your first quilt is just amazing to me (I still don't like applique)...

What a great first quilt. I love the pieced border along with everything else.

Oh, I just reread your title. Is this your first quilt challlenge, but not necessarily your first quilt? It's still a great quilt.
