Looks like you and I have exactly the same idea (lol)

It is very pretty! And like the others said some people just don't know what goes into a quilt. My husbands grandmother gave us one for our wedding. He kind of looked at it funny. I thought it was the best present we received.

I would never make my mom one - it is just not her thing. :)

I think you did a very good job.
I like the design, the stitching is nice, the borders are good, the colors are excellent, it looks like it is in perfect square.
I would be happy and proud to have been the person you gave the quilt to. I don't think you can ask for more from yourself. If you had not told me it was your 1st heirloom I would not have known.
My thought is: those who do not have a passion for quilting also seem to have less appreciation for the quilts themselves. I wish so much I had kept the first quilt I made. I can't even remember it now. Would be fun to look back.
You did a good job and I like the quilt.

I think you did a great job! I have to agree with a couple of the other ladies that have responded - if you would consider new sisters I would be happy to volunteer!!! :-D

You did a wonderful job! I can't see anything wrong with it. Like was mentioned before so many people don't appreciate all the work that goes into making a quilt (or anything by hand).

Keep up the good work. Your sewing machine should now welcome you into the room to quilt!

Looking forward to seeing your second one!

I like your quilt ALOT!! Don't feel bad - several years ago, I had made my mother, sister, and brother each a quilt (expecting them to squeal) but their reaction was luke warm. There are those of us that are INTO quilting, and those that are NOT especially! Oh, here is one for you. When we moved to this new area and the neighbor learned that I quilt, she asked me to make her one (for FREE I found out) I worked on that quilt day and night......... when I went over to her house a couple months later - I saw it on her bed - she must have washed it in her machine with TOWELS and it WAS A MESS!!!!! I STILL am not over that one!
