It is just a technique so you do not have to quilt the whole Q you just do each lk the the sashes are the connectors.
There is another method calle the Cotton Theory.... With hwyway and by ways.... the has shown it many times on sewing shows... last she is now doing a jacket using that method...
Not into the skull thing. But your piecing is great.
