I like the idea of using a strong-colored sashing to help get a feeling of symmetry and order to an otherwise "unplanned" quilt.
I have a huge bag of crumbs I'd like to make up into several quilts, but crumbs take longer to make than just sewing strips together. This actually can be done pretty quickly compared to a crumb quilt.

I'm undecided what to do with these quilts. I may "compromise" and finish them (by quilting-sewing, not tying, which is how we normally do the charity ones) and try to sell them to raise money for the batting, which I buy by the roll (30-50 meters, depending on the thickness). Or I might keep one or two of them, or whatever. I don't know.
The lines run kind of fuzzy in our lives.
Lots of things get donated to people who are in need that maybe never started out with that intention. I've not promised anyone what I'm going to do with them, so there are no obligations. We'll see. I just don't need all the quilts I already have.
Those who benefit from you must love the colour and warmth you bring to their livesvia your quilts and yourself. How generous of you.''
Keep up this important work! :)
