2 Quilts for 2 Brothers
#1
When our Mother was diagnosed with brain cancer and given 6 months to live, her one and only request was that she could die at home. My Dad had never cooked a meal in his life, and did very little housework, so this was a challenge. My two brothers stepped up to the plate, and went there every single day to help....I was able to go up on my days off to relieve them. I felt they went above and beyond in their compassionate care for our Mother. We were able to grant her final wish.
I could think of no other way to thank them than to make them each a quilt - straight from my heart. It took me almost 6 months to complete these, but they were totally amazed I did this for them, and truly were appreciative.
My brother John is an avid mountain climber, my brother Jeff is an avid forest hiker/mushroom hunter.
I used batiks almost exclusively.

Those are both awesome quilts! And from someone who has lost both parents to cancer, I understand! Even though I was the main caretaker, my brothers stepped up when I needed them. I hope you will always have close relationships with your brothers.
