Google this: "uses for Weighted quilts or blankets". Extra comfort and peace for those who use them!

I always thought weighted quilts were used for making elderly people feel more secure. Not sure how they weighted them.

I love that quilt but better than the quilt, I love the sweet smile on the face of the recipient. She looks so happy.

Here's Rob Appell's Man Sewing tutorial on how to make one. He uses poly pellets in his & gives you a ratio of how to calculate the weight of the quilt according to the weight of the receiver.

Weighted blankets are supposed to help with autistic children...to "calm" or "settle" them. My G-daughter is not "autistic", but has symptoms of sensory issues...doesn't like some clothing...wears a lot of dresses/skirts and needs time alone when she get tired...this helps her mellow out.

I used poly pellets...they are like plastic beads and some use micro glass beads.
