Please do finish them, they look great. Perhaps it is your friend's change of behaviour that is holding you back a bit. Perhaps she is under some kind of pressure or has a worry or two...Anyway, show us when they're done...we loooove pics.

I finished both tops today and don't feel a big satisfaction with either. I'm happy with the way the D9P came out. The other one really isn't a Soduku now that I've discovered a major flaw in the puzzle answer I was using for a pattern. It's really more a scrappy 9 patch than anything else. I know one of the rows is crooked, I'm fine with it. At least they are both done now and just need quilting.

    First the D9P

And then the scrappy 9 patch (with quilt inspectors)

I'm just glad they are done. I'm going to quilt both with varigated red, white and blue thread. Now to find a backing for the boy quilt.

You are so kind to make them for her other children. And it tells what type of person you are that you completed them. Hugs to you for being good to her other kids.

Well....the friend was all in for the work for the older one, but hasn't even asked to see the progress on these two....doesn't stop her from griping when I get other projects finished for other people though. We were much closer friends during the first quilts process....not so much now. I just want them done. I adore the kids and they deserve having a quilt too.

The boy's D9P has cost me the MOST work. I didn't like the 9 patches as they were going together. The blocks were just too big. So I seam ripped all of them and chopped them down to 4.5 inches. I fussy cut cars on half of them and fussy cut stars and flags on the other half. Now all the 9 patches are complete and ready for cutting.

The girl's quilt is a Soduku. Only a few pics. I found a fatal flaw in my pattern so it won't be a true Soduku. Some of the placements repeat. Kind of a bummer to find out now, but all 9 are done and I have no intention on doing them again. No one in their house does the puzzles either so it's not like anyone is going to try and map them out and see the mistakes. I'll just be glad when these are done. I'm not moving on to any projects for 2011 until these are DONE!

When I made my suduko quilt tops, I actually got a book of suduko puzzles and colored pencils and I colored in each block on the page with the color for each square and then just followed that. And then I did that wonder under stuff on the back of black fabric and ironed on numbers randomly on the quilt top.
