    wow

that star is just amazing, did you plan the fabric placement or did you just do whatever?

i've heard that some people just put all the pieces in a paper bag and however they pull a piece out is how they put it together.

Gorgeous star peaceandjoy! The folks in your group are going to have a lot of fun matching borders for it, I'm sure!

I haven't started my centre yet - I have 2 other projects that are due at the end of August, and I *have* to get those finished first, otherwise I'll end up in a mad rush and all stressed and I won't have fun doing any of them!

Here is what I'm going to do for my center. I've got the pattern, just have to go out and get the fabric. I'm thinking taupe, turquoise, brown with a little red and orange thrown in.

Lori, that looks really hard - it is paper piecing?

You ladies are way ahead of me on this one. haven't even TRIED to think about it yet! need to finish up current IRR, then nieces graduation quilt, then DH's quilt he's been (im)patiently waiting on for the last 12 months!

I hope it isn't hard!! Ever since I did a lone star lapquilt, I've been wanting to do some more southwestern / Native American style items. It is strip pieced using a 9 degree wedge ruler. (That's 40 wedges we're talking!) Now that I write it down, I'm thinking WHAT????! But the pattern doesn't look too difficult, I'll just have to make sure I take it slow and look at everything before I start sewing it together. The pattern came in three sizes, so I'll be able to do a wall hanging to match if I want. I've also got some paper pieced Hopi Indian characters that would look fun in a wall hanging too.
