Oh!!! That is so cool that you added the bird! I bet you might even get some more birds turning up to join it! Great center...love the colors. Great job!

They are chickadees - my favorite bird...along with cardinals and cedar waxwings....maybe I could change up the design abit and make one chickadee, one cardinal and a cedar waxwing!

Now, to find a c.waxwing pattern
I love your chickadees, and I know the cardinals but never heard of the cedar waxwings, I guess you love birds. Your block looks really pretty.

Well, there you go ladies. Pictures of my almost finished round robin center. Although my robin isn't too round. (I couldn't resist adding a bird...) It is a bonton box pattern, which I had always wanted to try.
Really pretty and very different, see all sorts of possibilities with that one shouldit come my way.

Everyone's centres are looking fantastic - and I love the way they're all so different! this is going to be a fascinating process, seeing how they develop in the hands of so many wonderful quilters!

I got some wonderful batiks in the mail this morning from Ducky - thank so much! I'm going to dig out the others I had in my stash and post a pic of them all together later on - these are definitively what I'm going to use for my rooster!!!

OK - bit pathetic I know, JUST to show my fabrics when so many are already showing their BLOCKS! But I was so pleased with what I got from Ducky - it filled the gaps perfectly with what I already had - mostly batiks but some tonals and a couple of options for the fence in the pic - I'll probably go with the wood effect fabric for that! The second I've posted, I'm going to start tracing off my pattern! :D

I do love birds....they are so much fun to watch! Here is a cedar waxwing...they go around in groups and stay mostly to the top of the trees....they make a high pitched shrill sound, very distinctive once you've heard it! they live year round in the northern 1/4 of the US, and winter in the lower 1/3 of the US. They are fun!

I'm pretty sure that I've decided on this for my center. I have muslin foundation for the suns from another project so I hope no one minds that. I ordered the black in Kona cotton. I saw talk about it and how much people liked it so I thought I would try it.
