    Woo hoo, I needed some retail therapy last night, so went out and purchased the fabric for my center. I got a yard of each so I have plenty in case of boo boo's....What 'cha think?

    Cornie I hope you don't mind my putting my two cents in...but I also do not mind the grayer pieces. I think they add a nice contrast.

    I still have absolutely no idea what my centre will be. A few thoughts, but nothing that rings my bell so far!

    This one. I've always wanted to do a southwestern US/ Native American design.

    OK, it is done! Wooo Hooo, my block is as complete as I can make it, I am going to put it in a safe place now (and endeavour to remember where that is!) until it gets to go on its long journey around the world. Thank you everyone for your interest, in following my efforts to get to this stage.

    I stitched the butterfly on spare white fabric, then appliqued it. I couldn't risk something going wrong and trying to unpick it.

    Little highlights amount to some couching to emphasize overlapping petals, some french knots in flower centres, and a few lazy daisy stitches or straight stitches, again added to flower centres.

    Leslie...on point is fine! I wondered when someone was going to take the "on point" option. I just love it! Your work is gorgeous!
