I could see art deco influenced borders with it. Also the celestial theme with the sun and moon.

That is what drew me to it. Art Deco is my favorite style, but this didn't turn out like I wanted it to.

Well, borders may do wonders for it. With the deep purple and gold, it could really sing to you by the time it is done. On the other hand, I was just reading a thread about whether someone should remove one block from a pieced top because it was too dark and didn't flow with the rest of the top. Concensus was that if you don't like it now, you won't like it any better 10 years from now. I guess you'll just have to decide how much you love the pattern.

don't give up on the idea. i think the concept is excellent and the 1st time making something never really comes out the way we expected.

i'm not happy with the eyebrows on the face and i've already changed the pattern so it can be fixed on the next one.

i say make the center again and change the things that you don't care for - there's plenty of time to pull the design together.

Klue, that is fantastic. You are an over achiever. An artist for sure. It must be nice to have images in your mind and be able to actually create them. Nice work!

k, I think the pattern is really a great one! Maybe you need to just step back and decide what you really don't like about it and change just that. I think this one could really develop into a winner for you.

There's my scales of justice I was looking for!!!! I think it's great, but it is a little "vegas". Instead of making it your RR, you could just expand on it a bit and make it a wall hanging???

I think it is the gold that is bothering me. And it was a bugger to do too!!!! I will have to live with it for a while and decide. It is defiantly out of my comfort zone since I am a traditional scrap quilter. See my avatar. That is me.
