    Default 280 HST Panel

I am glad this top is done! I had seen a picture, of a quilt that I thought would be easy to whip out, since I wanted something quick, after doing my last one. Not! First of all, I didn’t like the layout, with these colors, so since I had HST’s made I had to go for a different look. This was my 6th layout! The first layout I didn’t even take a picture, but here are beginnings of some I tried and the finished top.
By the way, our group leader passed along to me these Pre-Cut strips with tiny pinked edges. It didn’t take me long to realize why. They leave fuzzie/lint EVERYWHERE. I had just gave my house a good cleaning, dusting and mopping so I could get back into quilting. Now I have to vacuum everywhere and furniture, anywhere I may have laid a piece. Ugh! The top finished at 63.5x82.5 . All my HST were 3.5 inch and strips were 2.5. You can find where I fudged in the center when my HST rows were too long. I just was too fed up with my ‘easy’ top to try to figure anything better. It is what it is and someone else may even like it. For a veteran though.

I think you did well. I like your final lay out, although it obviously was not "quick", but now you know. You did a fine job of picking up the colors of the panel in the pieced borders. Yeah, for a flimsy done and ready for the next step.

Great job and it will be appreciated by a veteran even though it gave you a headache and a cleaning job.

Looks perfect to me. The "fudging" looks like you planned it and would never be taken for a mistake. Another beautiful quilt for a Veteran.
