WOW!!! I love it! I just bought a french braid book a few weeks ago, but haven't made one yet.

    I love your colors too.

Overlander, it's next Sunday, but here is my (almost certain) lineup. I just picked up a couple of other fabrics to audition, so it's not going to be set in stone until I get the opinion of the teach, but here it is. Tell me what you think:

I love it too. So much so that I bought the book and fabric to do it. But first I need to finish my OBW.

That is just beautiful. I love it. I also have been collecting batiks to do that.I tried it on a baby quilt yesterday for my great neice's baby girl that is due, the end of May, with fabric,I had in my stash.I wanted to practice for the big one.

Gai - I love the range from cream to dark chocolate. You may find you will want to switch some of the placements once you get talking about it with your teacher, but they are just so luscious. It reminds me of blue bubblegum and chocolate bars from when I was a kid :) Have a great time in your class and enjoy making the quilt. It goes quite fast when you start. Barb

Thanks, Barb. I can't wait to start cutting. I've practically memorized the book! I know that I'll probably want to rearrange the lineup a little, but the one that everyone wants me to move looks different in real life, and I've moved it back and forth but still like it where it is. LOL Anyhow, I too want mine to be queen sized. Did you cut your strips 8.5 or is that what you changed to make the top queen sized?

I cut my strips at 9.5 inches to get more width, then cut the separators at 2 inches for the outer band and 3.5 for the inner band. I also made the borders 10.5 inches. I like big quilts. Can't stand having DH hog the blankets so everything has to be king size. The purple pattern in the book is the biggest, it has 5 braids and is lovely too.
