I just learned how to quilt in April and have loved learning all the tricks from this site. Too bad I started at 59...the eyes are going fast.

Sorry, you guys are fast...I didn't get to include the other 3. Thanks for looking.
Your GD are very luck you did a great job. I know the ones I made were all in the same family so they all got diffrent versions of sunbonnet Sue's...Wow now I have better ideas for another year with encouragement as well...

"My goodness gracious me". If you have only just learnt to quilt now, i would HATE TO SEE what you can produce in 10 years time. WELL DONE all the quilts are stunning and i love the pillows with them. Very clever idea. The materials are also fantastic and that definitely makes all the quilts more wonderful i feel.

Your hand embroidery is very good also. Must have taken you ages to complete each quilt.

I wish you had more grandchildren as i would love to see what you would come up with next.

I think I was driven by the thought that if I die, I don't have anything to leave the grandkids that I personally made. So I made a goal to do one quilt a month. I had the advantage of leaving my sewing machine and unfinished quilt just the way it was and anytime I had a few minutes to spare, I'd try to do some sewing, even for 15 minutes. I did a lot of learning on youtube too, I'm a visual learner so it's easier to watch a video than to read instructions.

I can't believe how many people are generous and teach their skills for free. Youtube rocks!!
I will have to admit that i have only started using Youtube myself and making my first pinwheel from there. It went so quickly. It only I HAD KNOWN 10 years ago when i started. I have made 1 quilt a year so far...............your record is hard to bet!
