    Default 5 yard quilt - husband's Christmas

Pattern: "Fabulous Five Yard Quilts: Fun, Fast, & Finished" - there are 5 patterns in this booklet - this is the Sew Simple Quilt - slightly modified

Fabric: Just Train Crazy by Don Morris for RJR fabrics

Backing: One of the fabrics from Just Train Crazy

Binding: backing brought over from back

Quilting - meander - done with a Juki on a frame - by a friend. (This is the first one she's done for me and ... the white thread threw me, but.. I'm getting used to it. She asked if neutral was okay, but I was thinking black as a neutral. I'll be more specific next time, but am okay with this one.

Instead of 5 different fabrics I used 4 - using two yards of the black crackle by Moda. I used the black as a sashing down the side between the border blocks and the center.

Size: Pattern says 60X70, but with the added 6 inches with the sashing it's almost square.

That's so cute and the pattern could be used for lots of fabric that's too pretty to be cut up or if the pattern would be lost if it was cut up. Great job!

I love the train fabric and setting you chose. My grandfather (and practically the whole darn family way back then) worked for the New York Central RR. Fun quilt!
