If I wanted to do the same thing, how would I send them? Is there a distribution point for them?

And did you use cotton or flannel?

As the mother of an Army soldier, I thank you, for him and all who serve with him. He's currently in Iraq for the next year and I will be sending him and his company pillowcases and then cool collars once it gets hot over there. You are doing such a great job!!

And don't forget the cool "tops" for inside their helmets. Those don't have to follow the same requirements as for the cool collars material.

I know all the soldiers, male and female, appreciate all that is being done.

I used cotton........Do you know anyone in your neighborhood that is in Iraq or Iran. Or ask you local veterans if they know some. At the post office you can get a box $2.00 cheaper that is for soldiers. Since I am from Montana I did alot of wildlife & patriotic ones.

MarjaMT what a sweetheart you are. I would never thought of sending them to the soldiers & I'm sure it was really a day brightner & very special too. Maybe if I get my other gazillion things done I could add this to my list of things to do. There just aren't enough hours in a day! Give yourself a big hug because you definitely deserve it & give your grandson one too for being there & serving his country.

It ended up they got 2 more soldiers two days before the pillowcases arrived. He didn't have the heart to tell them there wasn't any for them so he ended up with none. He told his mom, thats okay Grandma will make me a set when I get home. Bless his giving heart. He just arrived back home so am working on a flannel quilt and I have the pillow cases for him.
