Default 68 yr old baby quilt

Cleaning out my cedar chest and I came across my husbands baby quilt handmade in 1943 by his mother/grandmother.
I remember asking MIL why it was made with pink fabric and she said back then they used alot of pink for boys.
Guess Sunbonnet Sue/Farner boy has been around for a long time.

What a treasure!! Interesting that it is twice as long as it is wide -- probably easier to wrap the baby.

My MIL mentioned that her mother made her a SBS for her first baby also. She had all boys. She can't find it now. I made her a new one for Christmas. I like this with the big blocks. I think she said her's was pink too. Didn't know what you were having back then.
