OMG that is fabulous. I made a spiderweb quilt but out of cotton - not polyester. And I think I saw pieces of my orange bell bottoms in there - proof that the 70s never really left!

A friend of mine did something similar with a bunch of leftover poly's .....

She made dozens of wheel-chair-sized lap quits, backed them with flannel, hand lited, and donated them to the nursing home .... They have gone thru many, many washings ... The flannel backing keeps them from slipping off the laps ... and the residents LOVE them ... The more they are washed, the softer the backing becomes .....

Sad, but true: That polyester will definitely outlive the residents .....

That is too funny or should I say far out man! My mom has old double knit fabric in a drawer- we were going through it one day laughing at all the clothes that were made from various pieces. Mom asked what should I do with it (the leftovers). I said just put them back.....I'm sure we could use a laugh another day! Woo hoo..

ps. btw pab58 I remember bodysuits!! My Mom has a picture of me on my first day of kindergarten....I'm sporting a lovely bodysuit with a small ruffle around buttons that don't do anything- big blue polyester bell bottoms......and I'm picking my seat!! :) Ya know they used to ride up too! LOL
