Her piecing is really good! I have heard about these knit polyester quilts being the favorite quilt in the house because they are practically indestructible.

Yeah...I would tie it with a backing and either give it back to her or donate it to a shelter.

Thanks for sharing - I got a chuckle out of your post :)

I have many polyester quilts that my grandma and mom made. They were tied quilts and they all have some sort of batting or blankets in the middle. And some have flannel backs and some poly cotton. I have had them for 30 years and they likely last another 30. I love them.

My exhusband was a fireman and slept against the back wall (made of cement blocks) at the fire station. He had 3-4 quilts on his bed but was always complaining how cold he got at nite in his bunk. I made him a polyester quilt with batting in it and from then on out that was the only blanket on his bunk....no matter how cold the nites got. He said he never got cold again and some nites he had to throw cover off cause he got too hot. It sure made for some warm quilts. lol

My BIL would call this a "nuclear blast" quilt--one you could "duck and cover" and survive!

Polyester was a dream to sew for clothes,
    BUT
    hot in summer &
    cold in winter.

I had some of every color.

OK.. considering the fact that I recognize half of my "hot date" clothes in that top, I think you should send that post haste to me....> Just joking about sending it.. not joking about the clothes.
