Very cute! :) Is the Wilson & Gibbs a chain-stitch machine? Can you do redwork type embroidery with it?
I have a chain stitch function on several of my vintage sewing machines, but none of them do embroidery-quality chain-stitching. :(

Yes they do the chain stitch as they have no bobbin. I have 3 Wilcox & Gibbs machines. one treddle, one hand crank, and one on a base with a moter, but could be made back into treddle. They were in my dads museum, and they all would need to be re=stored by some one who knew their stuff. I KNOW NOTHING! would love to have at least one of them restored to be able to use it.

Oops, I always mess this one up and call it a WilSON & Gibbs.
Restoring some of these old machines might not be as difficult as you think - if you join the treadleon mailing list, you'll find a lot of help for getting yours fixed up.
As long as it doesn't require some obscure needle that isn't available anywhere, you could be back in business pretty fast. Lots of people have these chainstitchers - the treadleon list has had swaps of redwork blocks done on people-powered machines like yours. :)
