We used to use bias tape to bind off lots of things (way back when) - bibs, aprons, summer dresses. Didn't realize until recently that bias tape WAS "binding"
One can buy it in packages in the notions sections of fabric stores (and some WalMarts)
One can also cut one's own - if you cut your own, make sure that you cut it on the bias - bias goes around curves a lot easier than something cut on the straight of grain.

YUP! Saw a few hand made baby bibs at a shower and they all had binding on them. No doubt, the popular patterns don't because it's just easier to sew & turn! I thought the bound bibs were soooo classy!
